Introduction
My name is Donald Grant Herring, Jr. I am 21 years old and I live in Indiana, where I attend college at Ivy Tech Community College (I was formerly homeschooled). I am considering eventually becoming a video game designer, but I also enjoy making art as a hobby.
I am by no means a great artist, partly because I do not draw extremely often. I really only do it when I get in the mood of doing it, though sometimes the mood may take me for days at a time. In the past, I probably drew more often, as I have countless drawings left over from my childhood. In those days I was not as interested in drawing skillfully; I often only drew people, things and situations that amused me, often utilizing an intentionally simple, minimum-detail style. For this reason many may find my childhood drawings to be much the same in quality as those of most other young children.
It was only later on, particularly in my later teenage years and onward, that I became more interested in drawing skillfully and with a refined style. Mostly it was cartoons which I tried to develop talent in drawing, though indeed, even in my childhood, cartoon characters, especially ones created for original stories or ones taken from existing media, have always been a major focus of my art.
I have created this site in order to show selected pieces of art made by myself during various periods of my life. Hopefully you will see how my drawing methods gradually changed over time. Also please check the video page for a video of myself drawing a cartoon character, as well as the VG Art page containing links to some of my video game fanart. You may submit any comments you may wish to leave on my art through the form on the Contact page.
